Lettuce is one of the most practical and fast-growing vegetables for indoor cultivation. You can make your first harvest in just 25–30 days. GrowlyBox's controlled environment provides the cool and moist conditions lettuce prefers, year-round.
Best varieties for indoor growing
Butter Lettuce, Romaine, Lollo Rosso and Butterhead all perform well indoors. Compact head varieties are best for cabinet growing.
Light and temperature
Lettuce needs less light than most vegetables: 12–14 hours per day at 15–22°C. Temperatures above 22°C risk bolting. GrowlyBox's blue-spectrum LED supports fast vegetative growth.
Harvest method
Use the "Cut and Come Again" technique: harvest outer leaves and leave the plant. New leaves grow from the center, giving 3–4 harvests from a single plant.
Continuous harvest rotation
Sow new seeds every 2 weeks for an uninterrupted supply. Three pots on rotation in GrowlyBox is enough for weekly fresh lettuce.
