The Activated Carbon Filter is the part that gives GrowlyBox its odour control. The front face of the deep cassette is a grille of closely spaced ribs, behind which sits a two-stage activated carbon bed. The fans push cabinet air through that bed on the way out, and most odour molecules are held in the carbon. The filter is a consumable: carbon saturates over time and loses effectiveness. It seats into the top module by fit, with no tools.

How often should I replace the filter?

Activated carbon is a consumable and saturates according to how heavily it is used. Replacing it once you notice a clear drop in odour-holding performance is the practical guide.

Can it be washed?

No. Activated carbon is not renewed by washing; water closes the pores of the carbon and permanently weakens the filter. A saturated filter is replaced.
